Earlier this season, BREYDEL, DEME Group’s DP/DT trailing suction hopper dredger, made her first-ever call at BLRT Repair Yards Klaipeda.

Since 2008, BREYDEL has been shaping coasts, deepening harbours, and supporting DEME Group’s global operations with quiet force and reliability.

Team BLRT Repair Yards Klaipeda carried out a wide range of works to support BREYDEL’s continued performance. Docking and hull cleaning were followed by renewal of jet water pipes in the central keelson box and unloading pipes from the hopper to the bow coupling. The bottom doors received a full service, with new rubber seals, doubler plates, and careful adjustment of hinges. We also repaired and realigned the self-emptying doors, adjusted chains, and replaced worn steel inside the channels.

Further tasks included tailshaft seal maintenance, rudder clearance measurements, box cooler servicing, and maintenance of the overflow valve in the hopper. The team also cleaned ventilation ducts in the accommodation area and completed general piping works throughout the vessel.
