As part of ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ 2025 /๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐/, we had the honour of hosting the EST Flag team at BLRT REPAIR YARDS in Tallinn.
The visit was dedicated to our newest addition, FD22, a modern 180-metre floating dock and the pride of the entire BLRT Repair Yards family.
Just recently, FD22 celebrated its first birthday, and the results speak for themselves: 24 vessels docked in the very first year. Projects have ranged from cargo to offshore vessels, across different scales and complexities, strengthening capacity, competitiveness, and confidence in Estoniaโs ship repair ๐ช๐ช
The program included a yard and dock tour, followed by a Q&A session on capacities, capabilities, and our approach to ship repair and technologies.
The visit also highlighted the importance of national maritime initiatives and private investments working in tandem, ensuring that Estonia remains a competitive and attractive maritime nation.

After months of planning, coordination, and engineering, DEUTSCHLAND, the first of two Scandlines ferries to undergo conversion, has arrived at BLRT Repair Yards Klaipeda. Her transformation into a plug-in hybrid vessel is now officially underway.
To be equipped with a fast-charging 5 MWh energy storage system, this milestone retrofit will bring Scandlines closer to its goal of emission -free ferry operations on the Puttgarden-Rรธdby route by 2030.
We are proud to support Scandlines on one of the largest plug-in hybrid conversion projects in the global Ro-Ro segment
The second Scandlines ferry arrives in December.

When reefer SILVER STAR, owned by Silver Sea and managed by Fjord Shipping AS, called at BLRT Repair Yards in Tallinn, her maintenance list came with a big mission: full-scale SCR system integration.
Project involving:
- Installation of SCR equipment from Ecoexhaust Sp. z o.o. From the urea tanks, dosing unit, and SCR reactor to the control panel and air compressor
- Rebuilding existing exhaust pipes to create space for the new reactor
- Manufacturing & installing a new exhaust bypass line
- Thermal insulation for exhaust lines
- Fabricating & fitting urea pipelines into one seamless injection system
- Electrical works- pulling new cables for power and control
In ship repair terms, this is an emission control retrofit aimed at upgrading a vessel to meet modern environmental regulations (IMO Tier III NOโ limits). These regulations require up to 80% lower nitrogen oxide emissions compared to older standards and are mandatory in NECAs, designated sea zones like the Baltic Sea, North Sea, and North American coasts, where the cleanest exhaust standards apply.

The POLARIS LIBERTY, a 140-meter vehicle carrier, recently completed her scheduled maintenance at BLRT Repair Yards Klaipeda.
With a capacity of 2,000 CEU, Polaris Liberty, owned by Polaris Autoliners- a RoRo specialist providing tailor-made services and high-quality solutions to global OEMs, and managed by OSM Thome- a globally recognised ship management company, is designed for high-volume, efficient global vehicle transportation.
To ensure she continues operating at peak performance, our team in close collaboration with the vessel crew, carried out a comprehensive scope of work, including steel renewal, rudder repairs to ensure safe and responsive maneuvering, a major overhaul of the stern ramp system, supporting critical RoRo operations, and application of a hashtag#silicone-based fouling-release coating from Hempel Marine, enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing friction.

The 205 m-long TRICA, operated by Transfennica Ltd, a member of the Spliethoff Group, recently called BLRTRepair Yards in Naantali, for scheduled maintenance, and is now back in service on her busy Baltic trade routes between continental Europe, Estonia, and Finland.
TRICA is a Con-Ro vessel | Container-Roll-on/Roll-off| – a hybrid design that combines the roll-on/roll-off capability for wheeled cargo with the stacking power of a container ship. This dual functionality makes her a highly versatile and valuable asset for mixed cargo operations.
TRICA`s recent visit to the yard focused on delivering targeted maintenance to ensure she continues to perform safely and efficiently under demanding conditions. From structural elements to systems that protect cargo and enhance manoeuvrability, our team handled what matters most, so TRICA can keep doing what she does best.
Servicing vessels like her is about understanding how their design serves the wider logistics chain.

Coral Ivory, an LPG tanker operated by our long-term partner Anthony Veder, recently completed her 5th special survey at BLRT Repair Yards in Klaipeda.
As an SP/FR (semi-pressurised/fully refrigerated) carrier, Coral Ivory is designed for flexibility, capable of transporting liquefied gases like LPG under both moderate pressure and deep refrigeration.
The scope of work focused on lifetime extension and system upgrades. In addition to a scheduled main engine overhaul, targeted structural maintenance, including the renewal of tank dome fastenings and various pipeline improvements, ensured continued reliability and safety.
Over 1,300 bolts were replaced as part of planned cargo containment integrity checks on the cargo dome. Other work included modifications to sampling point pipes, emergency shower line repairs, SW firefighting pipe renewal, hydraulic jib pipe replacement on the provision crane, and full hull painting.

CS CARE reefer has completed her intermediate survey at Turku Repair Yard, one of BLRT REPAIR YARDS, and is getting ready to head back to sea with a candy-smooth silicone coating from Hempel Marine.
This glossy finish is more than just eye-catching.
Itโs a high-performance solution that cuts drag, reduces fuel consumption, and helps protect marine ecosystems.
A forward-looking decision by the shipowner, combining operational efficiency with environmental responsibility.
