The Meuse River itself has been shaping landscapes and livelihoods for centuries, cutting through the heart of Europe, feeding trade, culture, and industry from France to the North Sea. It’s a name that evokes movement, connection, and resilience

Fittingly, it also sails across the world’s oceans, emblazoned on the hull of DEME Group’s dual-fuel hopper dredger MEUSE RIVER.

Recently, this remarkable vessel called at BLRT Repair Yards Klaipeda to undergo a comprehensive maintenance program, combining traditional ship repair with modern technology to keep her in prime condition for demanding dredging projects. The project included hull treatment, structural repairs, machinery and propulsion overhauls, safety upgrades, and comprehensive maintenance of dredging, piping, and electrical systems.

Thanks to careful planning and teamwork, the MEUSE RIVER is once again ready to shape harbours, deepen channels, and keep maritime trade flowing- just like the river she’s named after.
