In 2024, BLRT Repair Yards Tallinn completed a major infrastructure upgrade- reconstruction of the quay nr 21. From concept to commissioning in just 9 months. This marks a significant boost to our ship repair capacity, a solid investment in long-term performance, and is built to deliver better service and greater flexibility for the shipowners.
Now, you are able to witness the transformation in a short video.
Key technical highlights:
- Total quay length: 32 m
- Service area: 1,800 m²
- A bulwark system was applied, consisting of a front sheet pile wall, anchors, and a rear retaining wall
- Features a combined reinforced structure, including two mooring piles for Floating Docks 2 and 22
- Integrated utility column providing energy supply for both docks
- A complex reinforced concrete slab designed to withstand significant dock loads
- 800 m³ of reinforced concrete
- To ensure shoreline stability and environmental integration, the slope in shallow areas, where ground elevations vary, was reinforced using granite boulders ~ 1 m in diameter each
