On April 27, the multipurpose icebreaker Botnica arrived at the yard in Naantali after completing ice-breaking duties in Estonian coastal waters, where vessel operated from December 20, 2020 to April 20, 2021.
The shipyard specialists completed the repair of various equipment, hull works, cleaning and painting of the hull and applied a special Inerto160 coating for ice-class ships to the underwater part of the hull.
Now, Botnica is ready to leave for Arctic waters of Northern Canada, where from June to October this year the icebreaker will continue to perform its functions.
The icebreaker Botnica, owned by the Estonian company TS Shipping OÜ, a subsidiary of Tallinna Sadam, has been repeatedly repaired and serviced by BLRT REPAIR YARDS in Finland and Lithuania.
According to international maritime regulations, icebreaker Botnica must undergo scheduled maintenance of the underwater part of the hull and dock at least once every 5 years.
